San Juan, Puerto Rico– After signing a contract for human capital and service exportation with a leading provider of electricity in the Caribbean, Rock Solid Technologies, Inc., a Puerto Rican company, signed an agreement with PRIDCO for the creation of 100 new jobs in the next 36 months. The positions are committed for the Computer Engineering field. Ángel Pérez, Vice-President of Rock Solid, and the executive director of PRIDCO, Engineer Antonio L. Medina Comas, announced the agreement at the inaugural ceremony of the Rock Solid office expansion, which is located at the Governmental Development Bank for Puerto Rico in Guaynabo. The new facilities have a space of 8,000 square feet.

“Since our foundation in 1994, as a Puerto Rican information systems development company , we have been growing, thanks to the local talent, engineers that have graduated in Puerto Rico and that today are part of the team and are exporting their knowledge to 20 countries. We are sure that with the agreement with PRIDCO this growth will continue, and we reaffirm our compromise with Puerto Rico”, affirmed Pérez.

Meanwhile, the executive director of PRIDCO sustained that this agreement was just a part of the growth potential that Puerto Rico has with the export of knowledge and the computer industry. “To PRIDCO these areas are two of the most important emerging segments, because we count with the necessary competitive advantages, such as human capital, to promote it successfully” added Medina Comas.

The Secretary of the Department of Economic Development and Commerce, Alberto Bacó Bagué pointed out that “the growth of Rock Solid in the Island and Latin America, through the product and service exportation, shows the potential of Puerto Rico as a world-class talent fabric. Our human capital has been recognized in significant forums, but the greatest recognition is shown by that talent”.

Over the last years, Rock Solid has maintained continuous growth, and after the agreement with PRIDCO it expects to surpass the 200 jobs over the next 36 months. The company currently has 95 employees working in Puerto Rico. It also has operations in Texas and Barbados, with 14 employees.

“Our company has awarded 30 scholarships since 2001 and has recruited 60 engineers from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus. Certainly with this agreement and the room we now have in our new offices, we guarantee that we will continue expanding our services and the human capital that we have, to keep exporting them, such as the recent case of the contract that we signed with the company Fortis TCI in Turks and Caicos.” Said Pérez.

In addition, from 2010 to 2013 Microsoft has awarded the company with 14 awards: worldwide, Latin America, the Caribbean and locally. For three consecutive years, Rock Solid has received global awards by Microsoft “Dynamics Public Sector Partner of the Year”, considered the “Oscars of Technology”, in competition with over 3,000 other members.
